2024-25 Awards & Scholarships
Margaret Pidlaski Scholarship– Four $1000 awards given to four Manitoba ESL students who have demonstrated commitment, perseverance, and aptitude for learning, have defined education and career paths, and have financial barriers (as defined by Manitoba Student Aid) that may interfere with achieving their academic or career goals. Nominators cannot be close family members of their nominees (e.g. sibling, child, grandchild, spouse, parent, niece, or nephew).
TESL MB Immigrant Learner Award – $300 presented to a permanent resident or refugee in recognition of their perseverance in learning and is currently enrolled in a federally-funded ESL program.
TESL MB International Learner Award – $300 presented to a current international student (student visa holder) in Manitoba in recognition of their perseverance in learning.
TESL MB Teacher Award – $300 presented to an Adult ESL teacher in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of ESL for newcomers through service to the community.
TESL MB ESL Volunteer Award – $300 presented in recognition of excellence in and dedication to volunteering in the field of ESL for adults in Manitoba.
Margaret Pidlaski Scholarship Fund : Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Award – The amount is $2,000, and it can be divided amongst recipients if multiple people are eligible. The award will be given to Manitoba residents who are internationally educated nurses that demonstrate merit, direction, and financial need.
